Guidelines


1. All media ownership data & material provided to support the entry should be valid between April 1st, 2023, and March 31st, 2024.*

2. If eligible, an entry can be submitted for multiple categories.

3. Read the Terms & Conditions governing each award category mentioned below before submitting your entries on this online platform.

4. All entries will be submitted online. The first step is to register and submit the billing information. Once registration is done, the email will be sent to the registered email ID with the user ID and password for future access for entry submission.

5. Depending upon the number of entries there will be two judging rounds. The both rounds will be conducted online,. Each category has specific participation criteria and judging parameters, which will be used to assess nominees.

6. The Award process will be transparent, fair, and free from any bias or influence.

7. Special recognitions such as the Glass Ceiling Award and OOH Hall of Legends will honour individuals for their exceptional leadership and their lifetime achievements.

8. The entries to the IOAA Awards 2024 will be evaluated by the Jury as per the Business Parameters laid down. Hence, you are advised to keep in view the Business Parameters while drafting the content for each of your submissions.

9. Entry documentation should contain media images along with details (max width 900 px - max height 900 px) / presentation (has to be restricted under 10 slides), video with voiceover/ music (video limit - 40 MB; 2 Min), (for detailed information please go through the parameters laid down for each category)

10. Confidentiality of the information provided for the awards will be strictly maintained, with limited access to the jury members and IOAA Secretariat (one member).

11. Winners of the IOAA Awards 2024 will be declared at the grand IOAA award function scheduled to be held on July 26, 2024, at the Hilton Garden Inn, Bengaluru.

The judging will be based on the following parameters

  1. Overview of No of multiple format assets across the towns where media is owned. Presentation covering all 5 towns or more & showcasing the multiple formats across these towns with complete information on the number of media assets and the duration of media assets.
  2. Overview of Current/Ongoing tenders and contract their size in terms of the number of media assets & size and life of the contract by assets.
  3. New Initiatives. An AV with voiceover/music (Video limit 40 MB; 2min) or a presentation (has to be restricted under 10 slides), detailing the investments of fresh media assets or technology, etc.
  4. Clients and Relationships, an important part of sustaining the business. An overview the client relationships especially long-term relationships. Repeat clients. The value of the relationship. These need to be substantiated by the campaigns executed for the mentioned clients during the judging period. An endorsement from a client can also be included.
  5. Aesthetics, Design & Maintenance: The look and feel of the assets, if any specific theme or philosophy is applicable please do mention and elaborate. Process of Maintenance. An AV with voiceover/music (Video limit 40 MB; 2min) or a presentation (has to be restricted under 10 slides), detailing the design, the rationale behind the design & why it works.
  6. Innovation: This could be in terms of the introduction of new technology or format innovation or introduction new format. It will also include any facets innovated to save energy or support the environment, innovation on material /design. The output of the innovation will be considered in the design and aesthetics as well. You will need to define the need for this innovation (why was it needed) is solve any problem. OOH DESIGN PINNACLE

Participation Criteria

  1. Open to all Media owners in the Country
  2. One project that you think has redefined the design and the construction techniques in Out of Home. This may be across any format. It could also be a single project done in partnership with government or local municipal bodies. 

The judging will be based on the following parameters

  1. Why is it a benchmark of Excellence in Design & Construction? What is so different/unique about the project design, process,or construction techniques to make this an exceptional design & construction? Please elaborate.
  2. Why was this design considered specifically? Is the design solving a particular problem if not then is only for aesthetics, if yes why are these aesthetics superior to similar constructions in this format?
  3. Is it a contribution to the city infrastructure in any manner?
  4. Materials how do they contribute the enhancing the purpose of design? Is it standard material or a new kind of material, if yes, why has this material been used specifically
  5. How does the design contribute to sustainability and environmental protection?

THE GLASS CEILING AWARD (Open Nomination)

Given that this entire trade is hugely skewed towards men, it is important to recognize women who have been able to lead despite all odds.

The Glass Ceiling Award is to women who have smashed the glass ceiling themselves or who have opened a crack so wide that other women can proudly ascend above it. 

  1. This would be open to both Out of Media Owners & Agency professionals, obviously in a leadership position
  2. Individual women from the industry can be nominated.( This will be an Open Nomination)
  3. One company can nominate one woman only.
  4. An individual woman can enter their name as well subject to providing the details as asked for.
  5. The likely winner of this award can demonstrate how they have set the tone, led by example and then swept aside all barriers so other women following didn’t even notice a bump. Judges will be looking for evidence of a stellar career and an inclusive attitude to share their success with others.

OOH - HALL OF LEGENDS (Limited to IOAA Members Only)

Someone who has devoted his or her lifetime career (more than 25 years at least) to the Out of Home medium and who is widely respected and recognized by their peers. 

  • Nomination to both individuals who are alive as well as individuals who are not with us any longer
  • This applies to the media owners as well people on the Media Agencies and individuals from the client's side.
  • Individuals from the industry can be nominated by the members.
  • One member can nominate one individual only.
  • Alternatively, if there are not enough entries from the members the IOAA with the help of an independent committee creates a shortlist.
  • A confidential voting system will be utilized for the selection process from the nominations.
